Overview: What is "Sudoku Publisher"?

Sudoku Publisher lets you quickly design, build and export/print a variety of high quality Sudoku puzzles and their solutions. Many different puzzle styles, sizes, and difficulty levels are supported. You will be creating professional-looking puzzles right away.

All the puzzles created by Sudoku Publisher are "proper" or "well-formed" puzzles, that is, they are guaranteed to have only one correct solution. It also creates a completely new unique puzzle every time.

Add puzzles to your newsletter or social media or web site, distribute in your classroom, even publish and sell your own books... royalty-free, no commercial license needed. Sudoku Publisher runs privately with no internet needed, and no web-based accounts or subscriptions are ever required.

Here are the differences between the Pro, Full and Lite software applications:

 

Features

Sudoku Publisher is a rather impressive puzzle-generator. Compare these features against any sudoku building software you are using now...

  • Quickly create one, or dozens, or hundreds of wildly unique sudoku puzzles.
  • Puzzles can range from 3x3 up to 16x16 cells. The Pro upgrade goes up to 25x25.
  • You can choose different symbols for the cell digits: 1-9 (Arabic), Kanji, Elder Futhark, Greek. The Pro version lets you add your own images.
  • All created puzzles are completely yours to use and publish and make money with, no copyright restrictions or restrictive "commercial use" clauses here!
  • Work without a net... you never need an internet connection to create, save, and print your puzzles.
  • Your work is safely yours. Your puzzles stay on your computer. Sudoku Publisher never requires you to create an account, and never stores any of your information in the cloud.
  • Choose different cell shading options and different line widths and colors for cells and boxes.
  • Add puzzle labels for rows and columns, or a legend under the puzzle to list the available symbols (digits) used.
  • Easily change the puzzle difficulty. Simply move a slider from "very easy" to "very hard", without worrying about all the details of how it works.
  • Turn on "Advanced" difficulty mode to gain extra features, like choosing how many givens to use, and whether to make beautifully mirrored patterns with the givens.
  • Turn on "Progress Animation" to watch the puzzle get built, step by step.
  • Easy printing of the puzzle and/or solution right to your printer.
  • Export high-quality images of your puzzles and solutions for layout/publishing in your own books, newsletters, social media/web/blog, games, classroom handouts, etc. Supports PDF, PNG, JPEG, SVG file formats.
  • Save a "snapshot" your custom layout settings so you can instantly build other puzzles with the same "look".

Help & FAQ & More Info

Q: Can I make my own commercial puzzle book with these mazes and sell my book without royalty or copyright issues?
A: Yes you can... Any puzzles you create using my software are completely yours to give away or sell. I don't require royalty payments or "commercial rights" forms, you don't even need to mention my software in your product. Your puzzles stay on your computer. Minos Maze Maker never requires you to create an account and never stores any of your information in the cloud.
Q: Is this an interactive game I play on the computer?
A: No, this is software that will print puzzles and their solutions, or export them as image files.
Q: Can I save the puzzles as PDF files instead of printing them?
A: Yes you can... Open your maze in Sudoku Publisher and choose the "File:Export:" menu and choose to export just the puzzle and solution key as a PDF file.
Q: If I save a puzzle document, then later re-open it, will it keep the same solution?
A: Yes, if you open a saved document, it will be laid out exactly the same way that you saved it.
Q: How do I upgrade to the Pro version to get the extra powerful features?
A: To permanently upgrade your copy to Pro:
  • Run Sudoku Publisher, and choose "Pro Upgrade" from the "Sudoku Publisher" menu at the top of the screen. It will bring up an "Upgrade to Pro" dialog:
  • Click the "Upgrade for $xx" button, and after a moment (possibly with you logging into your AppStore account), it should return and tell you you successfully upgraded.
  • But you are not quite done... one last dialog will pop up saying you are "Almost Complete":
    you must quit and re-start the application before the Pro features take effect. Click "Finish Now" and Sudoku Publisher will automatically quit for you.
  • Now re-start Sudoku Publisher, and it will be the Pro version with all the new features.
